Original National or Fake? 5 Checks Before You Buy

01BUYING SMART

A practical guide to checking the appliance, the seller, and the paperwork before you pay.

For homes in PakistanFact-checked 24 October 2026

Which National product are you buying?

The range at national.com.pk identifies its manufacturer as ICE AGE Industries, Okara, Pakistan. Check that identity when comparing listings. A shared brand name or “Japan original” claim cannot establish who made a particular unit. Check the company information ↗

5 checks before placing an order

  1. Match the exact model. Compare the listing, appliance label and invoice. Similar-looking appliances can have different specifications.
  2. Inspect the rating plate. Ask for a clear photograph of the model, serial number and electrical rating. A missing or altered plate needs an explanation.
  3. Get a proper invoice. Ask for the seller’s name, purchase date and model details. Keep the receipt and order confirmation.
  4. Check the seller. Ask National support whether the seller supplies its range and whether the proposed warranty applies. Keep the answer in writing.
  5. Resolve mismatches before paying. Send support the listing and label photographs. If the identity remains unclear, choose a purchase route you can verify.

These checks reduce uncertainty; they are not a laboratory test or a guarantee that a product is genuine. General seller-checking guidance ↗

Useful clues versus actual confirmation

How to assess common buying signals
What you see What to do next
A branded box or QR code Compare the appliance label and confirm the verification route with support.
A much cheaper offer Check the exact model, condition, seller and written terms. Price alone proves neither authenticity nor fraud.
A heavy iron or familiar colour Compare the actual specification; appearance and weight are not an authentication test.
A different model suffix Ask what the suffix changes before assuming two listings are identical.

Common authenticity questions

Does “Made in Pakistan” mean a National product is fake?

No. This store identifies its range as locally manufactured. Verify the particular model and supply route rather than using country of origin as a shortcut.

Can I verify a National serial number online?

Do not assume a public serial-number checker exists. Use the contact route on the store and ask how to check your exact unit.

What if the item has already arrived?

Photograph the label, packaging and invoice, save the listing, and contact the seller and National support. A visual mismatch deserves investigation; it is not enough by itself to accuse a seller of counterfeiting.
